Here’s something most people don’t realize about how expert evidence actually works: reports can’t go to court. Experts and human beings go to court. That’s one of the interesting things about AI. AI will never replace an expert because an AI can’t testify. Now the AI may be able to help someone prepare a report. It may be able to perform blood, fingerprint, fingertip, or handwriting analysis, but it’s the experts themselves who go to court and testify.
